As we approach this blessed Christmas season, my heart is filled with gratitude for every man and woman who has answered God’s call to plant churches, preach the gospel, and make Christ known in places where the light is still small and the labor is still great.
Church planting is not easy work. It is faith-driven work.
It is the work of stepping into uncertainty with nothing but a conviction from God.
It is the work of sowing seeds you may not see grow right away.
It is the work of carrying both joy and burden in the same hands — the joy of seeing souls saved, and the burden of shepherding them with love.
But Christmas reminds us of something powerful:
God Himself began His redemptive work on earth in a humble, quiet, hidden place.
A stable.
A manger.
A small town.
A young couple with no earthly power.
A beginning that looked insignificant, yet shook the entire world.
Church planter, your work is in the same pattern.
You may feel small.
Your congregation may be few.
Your resources may be limited.
Your challenges may be many.
But God specializes in beginning great things in small, unexpected places.
You are not alone in this mission
This Christmas, be reminded:
- The same Jesus who stepped into a dark world steps into your ministry.
- The same Savior who “tabernacled among us” walks into your village, your town, your city through you.
- The same Holy Spirit who overshadowed Mary empowers your preaching and strengthens your steps.
He knows your sacrifices.
He sees your tears.
He honors your faithfulness.
He multiplies what you surrender to Him.
Let Christmas reignite your hope
Let the message of the Incarnation refill your passion for evangelism.
Let the humility of Christ inspire you to keep serving with patience.
Let the glory of His coming birth remind you that the gospel is always worth preaching — even when the results seem slow.
A Prayer for You This Christmas
“Lord, bless every church planter who labors for Your name. Strengthen their hands, encourage their spirit, protect their families, and open doors for the gospel. May this Christmas bring them fresh faith and renewed joy as they shine the light of Christ in every community.”
Merry Christmas, dear servants of God
Thank you for going where others will not go.
Thank you for preaching where Christ is not yet known.
Thank you for building, discipling, suffering, rejoicing, and persevering for the sake of the gospel.
From my heart to yours: Merry Christmas, and may the coming year be filled with fruit, growth, strength, and unwavering hope in Christ.
Keep going — your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
