Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We began our journey from Mbarara, Uganda on Thursday, 4th June, traveling to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania for the Global Baptist Training Foundation (GBTF) IT Training and Smartphone Distribution Mission.
Our route took us through Kigali, Rwanda via the Katuna border, then onward through Rusumo Border, and across Tanzania through Kahama, Dodoma, and Morogoro before arriving in Dar es Salaam on Day 4 of our journey.
Upon arrival, we found the church service already underway at Vingunguti Baptist Church, where we were warmly received by Pastor Hezron Mwaisemba, the GBTF National Coordinator for Tanzania. He welcomed us and introduced us to the congregation. After the service, we enjoyed lunch together and are now resting in preparation for the work ahead.Pastor Mwaisemba informed us that tomorrow, 8th June, we will be meeting and training more than 40 church planters. During the training, some participants will receive brand-new smartphones donated by GBTF.
These devices are intended to help church planters leverage modern technology for evangelism, communication, reporting, discipleship, and greater ministry effectiveness.
The mission team consists of:

Following tomorrow’s training in Dar es Salaam, we will travel south to Masasi for another training session with church planters. This journey will cover approximately 1,200 kilometers round trip. After completing the Masasi training, we will return to Dar es Salaam and then begin our journey toward Burundi, where we are scheduled to conduct training for three additional groups of church planters before returning home.
One of the important aspects of this mission is the practical use of IT skills during travel. Throughout this journey, we have relied on technology and digital mapping tools to navigate safely across thousands of kilometers, measure travel distances, monitor road conditions, identify locations, understand traffic patterns, and learn about the regions through which we travel, including national parks and other landmarks. These tools have helped us plan wisely and travel more efficiently, with safety remaining our highest priority.
We thank everyone who has been praying for this mission. Please continue to pray for:
Safety in travel across all countries and regions. Wisdom and effectiveness during the IT training sessions. The church planters who will receive smartphones and ministry resources. Open hearts for the Gospel, that the testimony of Christ and the Word of God may prevail and bear much fruit.
“Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified…” — 2 Thessalonians 3:1
Thank you for your prayers and support.
